COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On Jan. 19, Casper community members honored Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a service event that saw volunteers packing hygiene kits and sharing warm beverages at ART 321 and a church. The event united neighbors—promoting unity and shared responsibility—as they worked to support those in need.  Jack FM

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Nicolaysen Art Museum in Casper features 'Self-Reflection: Portraits from the Collection' — an exhibit with drawn, photographed, and painted faces inviting visitors to contemplate art and themselves. The exhibit is on view through May 2.  Oil City News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Natrona County gas prices dropped to an average of $2.10 per gallon on Monday, down 8 cents from last week. Local stations like Loaf (938 S. Poplar St.) offer the lowest fuel rates while the national average rose to $2.76.  Oil City News
  • Gas prices in Wyoming edged up slightly to $2.42 per gallon today (a less than half-cent increase) while remaining 47 cents below last year’s averages; some stations list prices as low as $1.96, so motorists should compare local options.  Jack FM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • An 11-year-old rockhound discovered a nearly complete 48-million-year-old turtle shell while exploring public lands last fall in the Greater Green River Basin. His family and local experts later excavated the fossil and brought it to the Tate Geological Museum in Casper for cleaning and study.  K2 Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State lawmakers approved a draft bill to dismantle the Wyoming Business Council by shifting some programs to agencies including Wyoming Workforce Services (and the governor's office). The measure will be debated by the full Legislature in February.  K2 Radio
