  • Olympic wrestling champion Rulon Gardner spoke at the Kiwanis Youth Empowerment Night on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at Best Western Downtown, urging local youth to stay resilient as the club raises roughly $2,400 for Key Club travel to the district conference in Estes Park.  Oil City News

  • Comedian Amir K will perform two shows at The Rialto Theater in Casper on Saturday, Jan. 31. The early show opens at 5:00 p.m. with a 6:00 start and the late show (opens at 8:15 p.m.) begins at 9:00 p.m.; tickets cost $26 to $50.  Jack FM
  • Shelly McCleary Trumbull will present her talk at the Fort Caspar Museum on Saturday, Jan. 31, from noon to 2:00 p.m. Residents can enjoy an optional buffet lunch + lecture that explores the Brooks-McCleary family's ranching legacy.  104.7 KISS FM

  • Casper College announced its first Community Learning Series — 'Exploring Today's Issues, Shaping Wyoming's Tomorrow' — taking place Monday, Jan. 26 at the Robert and Ruth Dove Conference Center on campus. The event, 'Your Tax Dollars at Work,' will feature Annette Pitts, Lopez, and Jordan discussing lodging and sales taxes.  Oil City News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Natrona County commissioners will appeal a court ruling that allows Prism Logistics to mine gravel on Casper Mountain, citing strong public opposition and environmental concerns. The county will file the appeal with the Wyoming Supreme Court as early as February + commissioners believe recent case law supports their stance.  Jack FM

  • The Casper Spuds have announced their 2026 baseball schedule, starting on May 22 with a road game against Oahe Zap and running through July 27 playoffs. Tickets are available soon and sponsorship and host family opportunities (including for female interns) are open.  Jack FM
