- ➤ In 1918, five men died in Wyoming nitroglycerin blasts while working for the Independent Torpedo Company; their deaths led lawmakers to update workmen's compensation laws for hazardous jobs. - ➤ An 11-year-old found a 48-million-year-old soft-shell turtle fossil while rockhounding with his grandparents in southwest Wyoming. The fossil (nicknamed 'Tiny Timmy') has been prepared at the Tate Geological Museum in Casper to help study the Eocene environment. Cowboy State Daily

- ➤ The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is accepting nominations for the 2026 Outdoor Hall of Fame and Youth Conservationist of the Year award (for conservation leaders) until March 31 for anyone who has helped conserve the state’s natural heritage.
