  • Kelly Walsh High School stages Something Rotten today at 6:30 p.m. in its auditorium (3500 E. 12th St), featuring over 80 student performers with additional shows on Feb. 27 and Feb. 28.  Jack FM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • One hundred Wyoming high school seniors were selected to receive the University of Wyoming’s Trustees’ Scholars Award, a four-year scholarship covering tuition, fees & housing for students maintaining full-time enrollment with at least a 3.25 GPA.   • Wyoming lawmakers have advanced Senate File 7, a bill that will raise penalties for retail theft, and the measure now moves to the full House for a vote today. Supporters say stronger penalties could help protect small businesses and Main Street across the state.  104.7 KISS FM

  • University of Wyoming junior Tara Joyce broke Wyoming and Mountain West records by winning the 200-yard freestyle on Thursday in Houston (Texas), earning an automatic NCAA bid at the MW Swimming and Diving Championships.  Oil City News
  • Casper’s Spring Spike Fest Volleyball Tournament for youth teams is set for April 18 and 19, and teams are charged ($225) for pool and bracket play while beginners can attend a skills workshop on the third Saturday of each month through May 16 to learn fundamentals.  K2 Radio
