COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Casper Municipal Golf Course will raise fees + upgrade facilities such as GPS-enabled carts and a refreshed Pro Shop to fund a new clubhouse. The City Council will vote on the proposal soon, with new rates taking effect immediately if approved.  Jack FM

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Cherries, a locally owned lingerie and women's store, reopened at Eastridge Mall on Sunday, Jan. 25 — having moved from Mills at Mountain View Plaza — and plans to open a third room soon to better serve local shoppers.  Jack FM

CULTURE NEWS

  • Casper’s historic St. Anthony’s Catholic Church got its first complete repaint in 35 years with a new color scheme designed by local artists and applied by Conrad Schmitt Studios. A celebration mass, open house and dinner are set for Sunday, March 8 (services now occur at Tri-Parish School).  Oil City News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Feb. 20, the Child Development Center broke ground on a 3,856 sqft expansion at 2020 E. 12th Street that adds classrooms, offices, a conference room, and a quick care clinic — expanding services to support local children and families as part of a $2.5M fundraising effort.  The Cowboy
  • Wyoming Mountain Guides will host youth climbing camps this summer that teach essential rock climbing skills like safety + knot-tying at sites including Ten Sleep, Cody, Wind River Canyon, Casper, and Vedauwoo from June to August.  The Cowboy
  • Wyoming lawmakers are moving forward on a bill that lets all K-12 homeschoolers join public school activities after Senator Charlie Scott (R-Casper) removed the grade limit. The Senate Education Committee passed the measure 4-0 on Wednesday, and districts may soon adjust their funding rules based on the change.  Cowboy State Daily
  • University of Wyoming professor Scott Seville received the 2026 W. Fred Taylor Ph.D. Award for his leadership in the NIH IDeA Program that expands biomedical research statewide. The recognition honors his long service at UW (UW-Casper) and his work with community colleges to boost research and education opportunities.  Oil City News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Tuesday, Feb. 24, the Bar Nunn Town Council approved a new retail liquor license for The Hangar so it can continue operating under new management after Energy Catering left, and renewed Chatters Bar and Grill’s license. Owner Christi Geuke now leads the transition with a team of experienced staff as the new license takes effect April 1.  Oil City News
