ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ The US Geological Survey said its study shows that parts of Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota and Nebraska may have 47 million barrels of oil and 876 billion cubic feet of gas that can be recovered using current drilling methods — the work builds on 50 years of research and a shift to modern fracking techniques. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ After Tuesday's announcement to cut more than half the U.S. Department of Education's funding, the Wyoming Education Association said it opposes the move and warned that reduced federal support will hurt local students—especially those with disabilities and from rural areas—as schools struggle to fill the funding gap. It noted that programs funded by federal dollars, including IDEA, Title I, Pell Grants, and career education, are vital to Wyoming schools. Wyoming News Now
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Starting tomorrow at 6:00 am, Casper and nearby areas face a Winter Weather Advisory until 3:00 pm due to strong winds—US20's Waltman Rest Area is closed and slick spots have been reported.
