  • Hundreds of community members gathered at Casper College's food hall for the Kiwanis Club's 71st Annual Pancake Breakfast Feast on Saturday, March 14 (serving between 700 and 1,000 people). Volunteers from the club and local high schools supported the fundraiser for youth programs.  Oil City News

  • The Tumble Inn Cowboy sign has been repainted and polished as work on its neon glass continues; entrepreneur John Huff said final wiring will soon start before it is installed outside Yellowstone Garage Bar on West Yellowstone Highway.  Cowboy State Daily

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Wyoming’s outdoor recreation economy generated $2.3 billion in 2024 while state parks welcomed over 5 million visitors in 2025. The new Outdoor Recreation Trust Fund has accepted grant proposals since February & will close submissions on April 11.  Oil City News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Casper College marked the 20th anniversary of discovering the 11,600-year-old Columbian Mammoth at its Tate Geological Museum on Saturday, March 14. Geology professor Dr. Kent Sundell and Donald 'Dee' Zimmerscheid celebrated the artifact (the largest such specimen in the Americas and a vital educational display).  Oil City News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Casper firefighter Brian Dixon (with 23 years of service) was diagnosed with Stage 3 mantle cell lymphoma in February and began chemo treatment last Wednesday at 8 a.m. His case has spurred local calls for more aggressive imaging-based cancer screening for firefighters.  Cowboy State Daily

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Sheridan Broncs won the 2026 WHSAA 4A Boys State Basketball Tournament finals Saturday night at Ford Wyoming Center when they narrowly beat the Natrona County Mustangs 52-47. Star Valley and Kelly Walsh also earned third and consolation honors, with notable performances (like Dylan Shumway's 24 points) energizing fans.  Oil City News
