GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • At Tuesday's city council meeting, business owners and residents said the new soda shop Styrrups caused heavy traffic along 2nd Street and Kenwood that made it hard for shoppers and drivers. City officials said they will check zoning rules — aiming to ease the congestion.  Oil City News
  • Natrona County Fire District said firefighters were dispatched today to a wildland fire near Desert Garden Circle on Cole Creek Road that burned about 1 acre and damaged a camper. Crews contained the fire quickly thanks to clear access roads (and earlier fuel mitigation work) that helped prevent further spread.  Oil City News

  • A new study shows Wyoming leads in healthcare deserts with nearly 32% of residents, about 186,000 people, lacking local care and often traveling over 26 miles to reach facilities. Health experts call for expanded telehealth services + increased staffing to ease the burden.  K2 Radio
