  • Rescued Treasure Thrift Stores announced extended hours on March 23; both Casper locations now open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. to give the community more time to shop and donate + support Wyoming Rescue Mission programs.  Oil City News
  • Highland Cemetery reminds visitors to remove unsecured decorations from headstones before April 6 so staff can mow the grounds + maintain a neat environment. The policy allows only items that are securely attached to remain and is available at the office on 1860 E. 12th St.  The Cowboy

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Enfinity Global is reviving its 2,000-acre Haystack Solar Project with a revised plan adding 160 acres and includes a 199-megawatt station + battery storage, following a Monday informational meeting at Fort Caspar Museum. The company will complete county permit procedures, environmental studies and design before construction begins in late 2027.  Cowboy State Daily

  • Chad Auer, a senior policy advisor with 20 years in education, announced his candidacy for superintendent of public instruction today in Cheyenne. He aims to boost school safety and align classroom instruction with energy, agriculture and technology workforce needs + values quality education and parental involvement.  Oil City News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On Friday, the Sandpiper Fire burned over 6,200 acres in Natrona County, far surpassing the 1,200-acre blaze in 2024, and officials warned the high numbers may signal tougher fire seasons + call for increased readiness.  Casper Star-Tribune

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Casper City Council approved replacing aging volleyball equipment at the Casper Recreation Center on Tuesday. The project, estimated at $15,790, will be funded using city reserves and a $4,000 contribution (via the Casper Recreational Leagues Association) to avoid costly repairs.  Oil City News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Casper College named Ty Larson (a Douglas native with Division I experience) as the new head coach of its men’s basketball team, with his tenure officially starting April 6. He plans to build on the college’s respected tradition and boost local recruiting efforts.  The Cowboy
