COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Crews removed the snow fence and tarps at Casper Municipal Golf Course, signaling that two of its nine-hole courses will open to the public with carts available on April 1—golfers are asked to wait until after 8:30 a.m. to tee off while the driving range and golf shop operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Links course will open soon if weather permits.  K2 Radio

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Thursday, March 27th, a rockslide closed one lane on Casper Mountain Road below the lookout point and slowed traffic until the road was cleared by 6:45 p.m. WYDOT began cleanup work early Friday—drivers were advised to use caution near the area.  Oil City News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Casper College will debut its episode of 'The College Tour' on Amazon Prime Video on April 7 — a campus event at Wheeler Concert Hall will feature a red carpet at 5 p.m., a Q&A with 10 student stars, and light refreshments through 7 p.m. The 30-minute episode will show campus life including academics, sports and housing seen by the students.  The Cowboy

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Visit Casper has opened applications for the Casper Area Impact grant (CAI) to help nonprofits produce events that boost the local economy and offer in-kind services from the city, with applications closing May 12 at noon. The marketing grant, now in its third year, will award $2,500 to 10 businesses to drive tourism, with applications accepted until May 2 by noon and an informational town hall scheduled on April 1 (10 to 11:30 a.m.).  Oil City News

  • Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park has cabins ready for rent and will offer family programs from the third week of May until the third week of September. Caspers residents can drive east on the old Highway—toward Glenrock for outdoor fun and are reminded to pay the day-use fee or buy an annual park pass online.  104.7 KISS FM
