  • Gasoline prices in Wyoming have surged, with the average rising over a dollar from a month ago to $3.79 a gallon this week — analysts say tight global oil supplies could push costs higher as spring travel season continues.  The Cowboy

  • Casper College has named Michael Burger the 2026 Distinguished Alumni for his career in engineering that improved vehicle safety; he started as a stock boy at Roundup store and later led innovations in computer modeling everywhere.   • Casper engineer Michael Burger has been named the 2026 Casper College Distinguished Alumni for his pioneering work in developing early crash simulation tools, marking a journey that began at a local grocery store.  The Cowboy

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Boat owners with vessels over 10 ft must obtain an annual AIS decal (costing $5 to $30) and have their boats inspected at state check stations to keep Wyoming lakes free of invasive species. The program is run by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department to protect local waterways.  K2 Radio
  • Wyoming regulators gained partial authority to manage coal ash permits effective March 30 after receiving EPA approval (joining only four other states) and are now sharing oversight with the federal agency to streamline decisions for utilities while critics urge close monitoring.  K2 Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Casper residents will get extra service in April as the City offers its annual branch pickup starting tomorrow, April 1. Bundled branches (max 5 ft and 50 lb) will be picked up with regular trash and processed into compost or wood chips at the regional facility.  K2 Radio

HEALTH NEWS

  • Trace One data shows Wyoming residents were impacted by 414 food recalls from 2021 to 2025, including 179 Class I recalls, while only 3 recalls came from local producers (data from FDA and USDA).  Wyoming News Now
