- ➤ Casper's Funky Junk festival will move to David Street Station for its 10th anniversary on Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. More than 100 vendors will offer antiques, crafts, food & drinks, and the event will include food trucks, a beer garden & cocktails by Backwards Distilling Company to support the nonprofit venue. - ➤ Registration is now open for five Children’s Entrepreneur Markets that will take place this summer at local events such as Downtown Casper Artwalk nights and Jackalope Days in Douglas. Kids (ages 5-17) will run their own booths selling handmade crafts and fresh produce to learn business skills, as explained by Casper Market manager Holly Shepperson. K2 Radio

- ➤ An 18-year-old student from Montana attending WyoTech died near Centennial on March 23 when he stopped to assist a disabled truck on WY 130 and was fatally struck by a moving Ford F-150 — the accident occurred at 10:36 p.m. Oil City News

- ➤ Natrona County High School’s Big Band will open for the U.S. Army Field Band’s Jazz Ambassadors on April 26 at 7 p.m. at the NCHS John F. Welsh Auditorium. The free event requires tickets for admittance. Oil City News
- ➤ Casper College Agriculture Department will hold its 45th Annual Lamb & Pig Sale on April 5 at 11:30 a.m. in the Grace Werner Agricultural Pavilion, while livestock consignors preview their animals on April 4 at 6 p.m. as students gain hands-on experience managing auction tasks. K2 Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Mark Gordon and the Wyoming Department of Revenue announced the property tax refund program is now open for applications—eligible homeowners must apply online or at county treasurer offices and complete their submissions by June 2. The program offers refunds up to one-half of the median tax amount or 75 percent of the 2024 property tax bill for those meeting income, residency, and asset guidelines. Oil City News
- ➤ Following her March resignation from the Natrona Collective Health Trust Board (citing lack of transparency and political ideologies), Jen True left her board role. The Natrona County Board of County Commissioners is now seeking qualified candidates to serve on the board with applications (including a resume and a letter of interest) submitted with no deadline set.
