- ➤ Central Wyoming Senior Services will host its 5th Annual 'A Night At The Races' Fundraiser on April 26 at the Ramkota Hotel and Conference Center — the event will offer dinner, a cash bar, raffles, and stick horse races to raise funds for the Casper Senior Center and its programs. Jack FM
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Casper man (56) pleaded guilty to a meth conspiracy and was sentenced to nearly 20 years (235 months) in federal prison on March 14 while two co-conspirators received 12 and 8 year sentences and a Colorado supplier was sentenced to 14 years, officials said. Oil City News
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Last summer, Wyoming recorded a 75.4% increase in average daily visitors, reaching 1,328 (up from 757 on non-summer days) and a 29.4% rise in daily flights to 44, with round-trip airfares averaging $722. - ➤ The Wyoming Department of Family Services said LIHEAP is working normally and has funding until September 30—utility bills will be paid for eligible clients until May 30 despite federal staff cuts. Oil City News
- ➤ Natrona County Library director Lisa Scroggins said that federal spending cuts and cancelled NEH grants have already put Casper library programs at risk—affecting book clubs, talk groups and the Story Walk. Wyoming Humanities Council and library staff are urging residents to contact elected officials and support funding to keep these cultural services available—efforts that may help restore programs in the near future. - ➤ Natrona County commissioners met with representatives from the Casper-Natrona County Health Department on Tuesday to review progress and financial details for the nearly 35,000-square-foot health facility that remains on budget and is one month ahead of schedule with roofing underway and occupancy expected in late February. Commissioners also discussed the department’s authority over septic systems — clarifying design oversight in areas with rocky soil challenges. Oil City News

- ➤ Powder River Rodeo, a respected livestock company (operated by Hank and Lori Franzen for nearly 40 years), will produce top broncs and attend rodeo events in Thermopolis, Rock Springs and Riverton.
