PacifiCorp has thrown a temporary lifeline to the Dave Johnston coal-fired power plant near Glenrock while planning to stop burning coal at the Naughton plant near Kemmerer by the end of this year—steps that will impact hundreds of local jobs in Converse County.
Rancher Eddie Shumway found his Angus cattle collapsing after grazing near hay stacks overgrown with toxic larkspur—a pretty wildflower that killed two cows—and he quickly called the vet.
