Yellowstone National Park will open select roads and entrances at 8 a.m. on April 18 for the summer season, with the North Entrance in Gardiner and West Entrance in West Yellowstone providing access to popular spots like Mammoth Hot Springs and Old Faithful.

Entrance fees will be waived on April 19 in celebration of National Park Week — additional roads will open in May if weather permits.

Wyoming’s chief economist Wenlin Liu reported that the housing market was overpriced as home prices increased 8.2% in the fourth quarter and 11% of buyers paid above list price because low inventory kept homeowners from selling their low interest rate properties.

He noted that while employment and incomes grew, housing affordability reached a 40-year low — signaling challenges for homebuyers and a tight supply in the market.
