  • Today at Eastridge Mall from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., nearly a hundred local vendors gather for the Annual Cowboy State Spring Expo where families can enjoy face painting, local shopping, and photos with the Easter Bunny—The Dog House food truck will serve meals at the mall food court.  The Cowboy

CRIME NEWS

  • A fight north of Casper on Thursday night at about 8:45 p.m. led to one man being shot near Stuckenhoff Street and Frontier Street off East Ormsby Road—he sustained a serious but non-life-threatening injury and is receiving hospital treatment while all three involved men are cooperating with law enforcement.  Oil City News
  • Casper Police Department warned local business owners—working with the Planning and Zoning Commission—to check invoices carefully for fraud.  Casper Star-Tribune
  • The adopted daughter testified on Friday that Steven Marler abused her when she was 9 or 10, including an incident that made her cry, as part of his trial on 26 charges of sexual abuse of minors, battery, and child endangerment in Casper.  Cowboy State Daily

  • Casper College was featured on an episode of Amazon Prime's The College Tour that gave viewers a close look at campus life and the stories of 10 current students (highlighting academics, housing and sports).   • Due to ongoing federal budget cuts, a federally-led grizzly bear study team that has researched grizzlies since 1973 may be dismantled—a move that could affect future bear management in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem including Wyoming while officials work to maintain conservation efforts.  Cowboy State Daily

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Mark Gordon announced that Attorney General Bridget Hill will join the Wyoming Supreme Court to replace former Chief Justice Kate Fox. Hill will start her new role on May 28 — a decision made after a careful review of candidates.  Oil City News
