ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ University of Wyoming Extension released a study that says if Wyoming shoppers spend 5% of their grocery money on local foods, local production could boost state GDP by $36.3 million. The study found that local food systems already add $24.4 million to GDP and noted increased sales (24 percent for retailers and 35 percent for consumers) along with challenges such as high transportation costs and limited cold storage, suggesting new public and private partnerships may help strengthen the local food economy. - ➤ Joan Barron explained how the late Sen. Robert Johnson used many amendments to limit government agency power and keep laws simple.
