  • Banner Wyoming Medical Center will hold its Spring into Safety event tomorrow from 10 a.m. to noon at the Boys & Girls Clubs, offering free bike helmets, life jackets, and safety tips on water, cars, fire, and carbon monoxide—attendees can also join raffles for children’s items with help from local sponsors.  Oil City News

  • A beloved white-bellied caique named Storin was stolen from Birdee Biyou (located at 236 South Center Street) on April 30th, 2025 at around 2:50 p.m. when a white female suspect was caught on camera placing the bird into her purse, and police have been notified with a reward offered for its safe return.  The Cowboy

  • A 20-year-old Cheyenne man received a seven-to-nine-year prison sentence for pistol-whipping a Casper man and shooting at another during a drunken night on August 31—he pleaded guilty in exchange for dropping three other charges and received credit for 244 days served.  Cowboy State Daily

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • It is May in Wyoming and spring has begun—many animals including bison, elk, moose, bighorn sheep, and antelope are giving birth. The Game and Fish Department asks people not to disturb the newborn animals.  Jack FM
  • Researchers with Beyond Yellowstone Living Lab mapped 155 miles of fences along the Absaroka Front during a 2024 study and found 27 miles needing repair along with over 300 miles of mistaken records removed — the study aims to guide future fence fixes that help prevent wildlife from getting caught and killed.  Cowboy State Daily

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Natrona Collective Health Trust awarded more than $1.4 million in two-year operating support to 19 organizations and provided grant writing and translation services to eight nonprofits. Four new partners — David Street Station, Platte River Judo, Whole Soul Consulting and the WYO Sports Ranch — joined the trust to support mental and behavioral health, early childhood development and advocacy programs for Natrona County residents.  Oil City News
