COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The 34th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive takes place Saturday, May 9th, with donation bags left at mailboxes for residents to fill with food for local pantries. Letter carrier and coordinator Gregory Schmidt challenged Casper to beat last year's 22,873 lbs in donations used to support local pantries.  Wyoming News Now

  • Developers of Prometheus Hyperscale plan a liquid-cooled data center (10 miles east of Casper) to be built by 2028. The project aims to boost high-tech computing while creating technical jobs amid streamlined regulatory processes.  Oil City News

  • Casper’s open container season is underway, letting people carry alcohol in the designated downtown area from 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday until Sept. 30. Visitors must pick up a free wristband at select businesses as ArtWalk begins on May 7.  Oil City News

  • Natrona County and Mills spent hundreds of thousands to boost local services for a solar project that is now delayed until March 2029, leaving funds uncertain. Local leaders urge developers to post a bond & secure timely reimbursements before construction begins.  Oil City News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Memorial Hospital of Converse County is moving ahead with a 24-hour emergency department at Summit Medical Center on the east side despite financing setbacks; the expansion, costing $4 to $10 million and expecting 60 to 70 new hires, will begin with commercial loans (pending a $29.2 million building purchase) this summer.  Oil City News

  • Although Wyoming waters may be low due to less snowmelt, Casper anglers & boaters continue enjoying local waterways. Officials advise residents to secure the 2026 AIS decal, valid fishing license and proper safety gear before launching.  K2 Radio

  • Casper’s Ford Wyoming Center announced that ticket sales for the College National Finals Rodeo are open for the event running June 14 to 20. The week-long rodeo will feature competitions such as saddle bronc riding & tradeshow vendors with tickets available online, in person, or by phone.  Oil City News
