CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Casper police responded at 6:50 p.m. on Sunday, May 11 to a shooting at an apartment on the 1900 block of South Missouri that left 20-year-old Anicio Kane Bernard dead and another man in critical condition—officers reported the incident involved an exchange of gunfire—and detectives continue to gather evidence. - ➤ A 48-year-old Casper man pleaded guilty on Monday to eight charges of sexual exploitation of children—charges linked to over 30,000 child porn files including disturbing images—and now faces a potential concurrent sentence of up to 16 years as part of a plea agreement after investigators acted on a tip from his wife. - ➤ Today, Wyoming gasoline prices fell 1.7 cents per gallon and averaged $3.09 — the cheapest station was $2.75 and the priciest was $3.89 based on a GasBuddy survey of 494 stations. Refineries will boost output after finishing seasonal maintenance as summer approaches. Jack FM
- ➤ Natrona County's average gas price fell 4 cents to $2.86, making it the cheapest in Wyoming for six weeks. The national average dropped to $3.08 as refineries finished their seasonal work — prices may stay low with only small changes ahead. Oil City News

- ➤ The Natrona County School District 1 Board meets today at the Central Services Facility (970 N. Glenn Road) to review a new firearms policy, cellphone use rules, and designated restroom guidelines. The meeting will also cover academic support plans and contracts for school projects. - ➤ The Natrona County School District 1 Board Policy Committee finalized a draft rule for employees and volunteers to carry concealed firearms on school property that sets strict training standards—40 hours of live fire training and 16 hours of scenario-based training with annual recurrent training. The draft rule will go for public comment on May 15—further meetings are planned on June 9, July 9 and July 14 to decide its final form. Oil City News
