COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Wyoming Housing Network celebrates 20 years of service by providing affordable housing and counseling programs to residents across Wyoming. The nonprofit’s Robins’ Point project in Cheyenne is under construction — a 48-unit complex as it builds new partnerships to meet rising housing needs.  Oil City News

  • Residents may join a free arts and culture listening session on May 30 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Nicolaysen Art Museum—hosted by the Wyoming Arts Alliance to support the state’s creative economy and engage local artists, educators and elected officials in a discussion about its impact.  Oil City News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Natrona County’s average gas price fell 3 cents to $2.83 for the fourth week in a row—making it the cheapest in the state—while the national price rose to $3.14 per gallon.  Oil City News
  • Average gasoline prices in Wyoming rose by 0.8 cents per gallon to $3.09 today based on a GasBuddy survey of 494 stations—making prices 21.4 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. Rising oil prices have contributed to the gradual increase in gas costs across the nation.  Jack FM
  • GasBuddy’s survey of 494 stations showed that Wyoming’s average gas price is $3.09 today, a 0.8 cent rise from last week—prices are 0.7 cent above those a month ago and 21.4 cents below those of a year ago.  K2 Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On January 29, Casper city staff fixed a 17-foot sinkhole on Midway Drive caused by corrosion in the North Platte Sanitary Sewer Interceptor and covered it with metal plates—fenced off until a contractor repaired it. Today, council will consider applying for a $2.8 million loan to fund Phase II repairs on the interceptor, which may raise wastewater bills by 31 cents per month starting in January 2026.  The Cowboy

  • Fisk Johansson, a KWHS Nordic skier who won two state championships, signed with the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay on May 19 and said he chose skiing over mountain biking for his college career—he will study kinesiology and hopes to coach at the NCAA level and with the US Ski Team.  Oil City News
