COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Fort Caspar in Casper will host a dedication ceremony on June 14 to honor six Civil War-era soldiers by unveiling new headstones as part of the Lest We Forget Commemorative Cemetery project—officials and military groups will offer remarks and present a bugle performance of taps.  Jack FM
  • The 28th Annual Central Wyoming Machine Gun and Cannon Shoot will be held from June 6 to 8 at Garret Ranch where fans can camp and shoot historic machine guns and cannons while rental options are provided; proceeds will support a veterans program (weekend passes cost $20 and camping passes cost $40).  The Cowboy

CRIME NEWS

  • Rylie Woolson, 25, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and battery after she allegedly pointed a handgun at a woman and fired from the balcony of an apartment complex on the 700 block of East Walsh Street near Kelly Wash High School on May 29 around 10:23 a.m. — the dispute stemmed from a personal conflict — and authorities have her charges pending.  Oil City News

CULTURE NEWS

  • After his Thermopolis show was cancelled due to venue issues, Chase Rice will perform at The Gaslight Social in Casper on July 12—ticket holders with digital tickets will be refunded and paper ticket holders may use their existing tickets—ensuring fans still have a chance to see him live.  The Cowboy
  • Chase Rice's concert planned for Thermopolis on July 12 was canceled due to venue issues and will now take place at The Gaslight Social in Casper, where tickets already purchased will be accepted + digital tickets will be refunded as needed.  K2 Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Casper City Council will hold public hearings on Tuesday, June 17—letting residents share input on proposed ordinances to ban fake IDs and restrict sidewalk obstructions and to review the city’s fiscal year 2025 to 2026 budget of $189.2 million. Each speaker will have up to five minutes to comment.  Oil City News
  • Casper City Council approved several agreements on Tuesday, including a resolution that supports Radiant’s pursuit of a $25M state grant for a major development in Natrona County — a project that will deliver about $8M for infrastructure to support commercial growth in Bar Nunn. Councilor Matt Larson was the only dissenting vote — his opposition marked the sole objection to the plan.  Oil City News
