Good morning, Casper. Here's your local news at a glance for Monday, the 9th of June.

CULTURE NEWS

  • In 1920, government hunter Harry Percival Williams chased an elusive wolf dubbed the Custer wolf that had terrorized local ranchers for eight months, leaving losses valued at $25,000 (today nearly half a million dollars). He ultimately trapped and shot the small, nearly white-furred predator, ending its reign and carving a legendary chapter in Wyoming history (a tale still told among local ranchers).  Cowboy State Daily

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Couples in Natrona County applied for marriage licenses from May 27 through June 3, and the County Clerk’s Office reported the list to Oil City News—this log includes names like Samuel Thomas Wade with Brooke Nicole McKenna and may not cover every upcoming marriage.  Oil City News

HEALTH NEWS

  • From May 30 to June 5, the Casper-Natrona County Health Department inspected local food facilities including restaurants and grocery stores. Several businesses, such as 2nd Street Liquor and Guadalajara, had priority violations that required re-inspection; all issues were to be fixed immediately or within 10 days (most facilities met the standard).  Oil City News

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Golf Life Navigators, a firm from Florida, is expanding to Wyoming and now works with local realtor Anne Fish to help buyers find homes in golf communities. The growing market follows a post-pandemic boom that turned golf real estate into a $147 billion niche & includes properties starting at about $1.5 million.  Cowboy State Daily
