- ➤ The Boys & Girls Club will host Casey Bramlet Day — a celebration honoring local football star Casey Bramlet’s selection to the UW Hall of Fame — on July 26 in Casper. The event begins with a free BBQ lunch at 1701 East K Street and continues with football skills clinics and flag-football games at the Casper Soccer Complex Fields 10 and 11. 104.7 KISS FM

- ➤ The Mercantile at the WYO Sports Ranch is hosting a trade show where vendors sell cowboy hats, beef jerky, and western clothes while music plays and food trucks serve meals, with stalls open today through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Trade show planners worked since last summer to create an event that adds extra charm to the College National Finals Rodeo—helping visitors enjoy more western goods and activities. - ➤ Yesterday, Copper Cup Coffee Company opened its second location inside WYO Sports Ranch in Casper ahead of the 2025 College National Finals Rodeo and The Mercantile trade show. The new shop uses custom-built mobile carts — featuring state-of-the-art espresso machines — to serve quality espresso drinks during events at the Ranch. Oil City News

- ➤ On August 1, 2024, a speeding car on I-25 near Casper was stopped when a police K9 detected 404 grams of meth and 48 grams of cocaine, leading to the arrest of 42-year-old John Fowler and two Casper residents; Fowler pleaded guilty and was sentenced on May 29 to 151 months in prison—while Baker and Ditton received suspended sentences. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Many young workers are leaving Wyoming and this may hurt our economy, the Business Council said as 60 to 70 percent of local youth move away by age 30 — a challenge for companies to find skilled workers. Officials will discuss changes to the Business Ready Community program at a meeting in Casper on July 29-30 — and they are accepting public comments until July 27. Oil City News

- ➤ Casper College students won nine gold medals at the state SkillsUSA contest and will attend the national conference in Atlanta June 23-27—showing strong skills in manufacturing, drafting, welding and electrical work. Oil City News
- ➤ State lawmakers debated the new universal school voucher program and warned it may be struck down in court. Today, nine parents and the Wyoming Education Association filed a lawsuit that could block funding for roughly 3,800 students—raising fears many families will be affected—while the Department of Education plans to start payments on July 1. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A federal budget measure may allow up to 15 million acres in Wyoming to be nominated for sale for housing as part of a GOP plan that fast-tracks land sales and expands potential properties to include federal grazing lands—raising concerns among ranchers and outdoor recreation groups about the state's traditional way of life. Lawmakers are set to review the details as the proposal requires secretaries to begin accepting nominations within 30 days after passage. Casper Star-Tribune
