  • On Saturday afternoon, locals gathered at David Street Station for the annual Brew Fest where over a dozen breweries offered unlimited brew tasting for a $35 ticket — the event featured games like beer pong, food truck fare, and live music by Mastermind of Monkey until 6 p.m.  Oil City News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Tacchino Hat Company, an Italian business 162 years old, attracted local visitors by selling cowboy hats at The Mercantile at WYO Sports Ranch in Casper + the event highlighted its long legacy.  Casper Star-Tribune

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Casper College students won nine gold medals at the 2025 SkillsUSA Wyoming State Competition and will travel to the national conference in Atlanta from June 23rd to 27th. They earned awards in events such as manufacturing, drafting, welding and electrical wiring — a sign of hard work and strong local support — and they look forward to showing their skills at the upcoming event.  Oil City News
  • The new Wyoming Classical Academy building in Mills is nearing completion after a tour on Wednesday showed the progress, and officials say classes will soon begin in the updated facility — pending final touches.  Casper Star-Tribune
  • Wyoming lawmakers began the 2025 school funding review in Casper on June 17th after a court ruling found that public schools were underfunded—consultant Dr. Larry Picus said his team will study issues such as teacher pay and student ratios over a series of meetings. The recalibration process will guide future changes required by the state constitution.  Oil City News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The BLM is updating its Rock Springs Management Plan to include new USGS estimates that show larger oil and gas reserves in southwest Wyoming—an adjustment expected to lower restrictions on energy development. Wyoming lawmakers remain cautious and want to ensure these policy changes will stay in place if federal leadership shifts.  Oil City News

SPORTS NEWS

  • The College National Finals Rodeo ended Saturday night at the Ford Center in Casper when the top 12 qualifiers in each event competed in the championship short-go and national titles were handed out starting at 7:00 p.m. Athletes from Casper College, Gillette College, and other schools competed in events including saddle bronc, bareback riding, and tie-down roping.  K2 Radio
  • Casper College competitor James Perrin won the national saddle bronc riding title at the College National Finals Rodeo on Saturday — he earned an 84.5 score on his final run to finish with an overall average of 324.5, topping his rivals by more than nine points. Other competitors from Casper College joined the event, but riders from Tarleton State and Fort Scott advanced into higher positions.  Oil City News
