- ➤ Bryan Price, a Casper resident and former U.S. Paralympic team competitor paralyzed by an IED blast in Iraq in 2006, will soon receive a handicap-accessible home built by Homes For Our Troops at Clark’s Corner. The project is underway—the foundation was laid two weeks ago and a community kickoff event is planned for the weekend—to help him care for his wife and 5-year-old autistic son. Cowboy State Daily
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The arrest logs compiled for Natrona County show that police had contact with many suspects between June 20th and June 27th and listed charges like DUI, failure to appear, and drug possession—logs do not include juvenile cases, sexual charge cases, or individuals released before details were confirmed. - ➤ Someone used a hatchet to chop down about 20 live trees at Tower Hill Campground on Casper Mountain to build a lean-to in the middle of a hiking trail, leaving trash and an old recliner behind, and officials said the violation may bring a $100 fine or 30 days in jail (rules) while volunteers and county workers cleaned up the site (cleanup). - ➤ Cyclone Drilling in Gillette will drill Wyoming’s first 3-mile lateral well for oil and gas extraction — and it is planning a 4-mile lateral as it upgrades its high-spec rigs. The project, conducted for major local operators, aims to reduce surface impacts — while offering a cost advantage in the Powder River Basin. Cowboy State Daily

- ➤ State lawmakers, local councilmembers and over 50 residents met at Hangar Bar and Grill to learn about Radiant Nuclear’s plan to build microreactor facilities north of Bar Nunn. They discussed concerns about storing spent nuclear fuel—issues set for further review at a committee meeting on July 29 and 30 and additional town halls on July 14, July 22 and Aug. 12.
