CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Casper man shot and killed his daughter’s partner in March — he will not be charged, according to an official from Natrona County District Attorney’s Office. Casper Star-Tribune
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Wyoming State Fair announced its participation in the national Great American Fair initiative—a USDA campaign celebrating the country’s 250th anniversary that will run through 2026. The fair will take place Aug. 12–16 in Douglas, and Gov. Mark Gordon with board member Nick Neylon said the event honors Wyoming’s agricultural heritage. Oil City News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Casper College will host the Tools of the Trade event on July 9 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.—the college will feature live demos from Miller Electric and Hypertherm/Arclight Dynamics and offer tours of technical shops to help students learn about programs like auto body, construction, and welding. Walk-ins are welcome at the Werner Technical Center lobby and staff will assist with registration. Oil City News

- ➤ The Department of Justice filed a statement of interest in the federal case on Wyoming’s new voter registration law, arguing that requiring proof of residency and citizenship is a valid way to prevent fraud. The federal court set deadlines for additional motions and designated county clerks as nominal parties while it decides whether to pause the law’s enforcement. Oil City News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Casper officials delayed mosquito spraying because of weather on July 3, so areas near the airport were sprayed on July 4 and other zones will be sprayed tonight from 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Residents in these zones should stay indoors for 15 to 20 minutes after spraying plus the effort is meant to control mosquitoes that spread West Nile virus.
