- ➤ Early this morning, fire crews responded to a house fire on northern Cole Creek Road after smoke detectors alerted two occupants when a mattress caught fire from discarded smoking material—one person was rescued and one dog saved while one dog and one cat died and another cat remains missing, with the injured victim now treated for smoke inhalation. - ➤ Casey Jackson, 48, was sentenced yesterday to six to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to firing a hunting crossbow bolt through a window to terrorize his ex, and he also pleaded guilty to stalking and possessing a deadly weapon with unlawful intent — his long criminal history influenced the sentence.
