COMMUNITY NEWS

  • After a two-year closure, the Casper Mountain Lions Club re-opened the Lee McCune Braille Trail ten miles south of Casper. The club will host the trail’s 50th anniversary celebration on Saturday, July 19 from 4 to 6:30 p.m.—with speakers sharing its history and plans for future volunteer efforts.  Wyoming News Now

CULTURE NEWS

  • The new Casper Children’s Museum, owned by Maggie Trost, will open on September 2 at Sunrise Shopping Center (4230 South Poplar) to give kids a safe indoor space for imaginative play while parents relax with free coffee. The museum will offer themed exhibits (including a mini fire truck and ice cream truck) and a small town setup with beauty shops and grocery stores to spark creative fun.  Oil City News
  • Wyoming PBS has received a $34,750 grant from the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund—supporting local culture projects—to produce 'Call of The West,' a documentary about the state's dude ranch history that will feature interviews with historian Russell True and members of the Eaton family.   • Gas prices in Natrona County rose 7 cents and remain Wyoming’s cheapest fuel for the fifteenth week—while the national average edged upward to about $3.11 per gallon—after three weeks of decline.  Oil City News
  • Gas prices in Wyoming dropped slightly to $3.07 a gallon today, with prices ranging from $2.66 to $5.29—a reflection of shifting fuel trends as summer driving picks up. Diesel prices climbed to $3.676 per gallon while gasoline remains 23.8 cents lower than a year ago but 1.5 cents higher than last month.  The Cowboy
  • A new report shows that Wyoming construction jobs pay high wages, with first-line supervisors earning $77,490+ boilermakers at $76,050 and electricians at $73,450 per year. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Natrona County School District 1 Board of Trustees meets today at 6 p.m. at the Central Services Facility at 970 N. Glenn Road in Casper to hear public comments on its $428M fiscal year 2026 budget and review a proposed policy that would allow trained personnel and volunteers with valid Wyoming permits to carry concealed firearms on campus—detailing strict training requirements and limitations. At 2:30 p.m., the Board Policy Committee will review the policy before the board votes on the budget and other agenda items.  Oil City News
  • Casper drivers face delays on West First Street today as WYDOT reduces lanes for repairs between Poplar and the North Platte River Bridge + the lane reduction will impact morning and mid-afternoon commutes.  K2 Radio
