COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Casper Karma Yoga Festival will take place this Saturday, July 19th at Washington Park with yoga, music, kid activities and food trucks; local teachers, healers and vendors will offer donation-based workshops — an event open to every skill level.  104.7 KISS FM
  • On July 24, first responders in Casper will get free drinks at select convenience stores as a thank you for their service during crises such as flash floods. The NACS Foundation hosts 24/7 Day across nearly 40,000 stores, with Good 2 Go offering a free fountain drink, Loaf N Jug offering free coffee, and Yesway offering a free 32 oz drink.  K2 Radio
  • Young Casper resident Zayvier Yates, 5, set up his lemonade stand and donated $45 to Food for Thought Project after earning money with help from neighbors — his donation supports weekend food bags for children facing food insecurity.  Oil City News
  • David Street Station in Casper offers free concerts and a working splash pad this summer for families to enjoy outdoor fun. The station fixed the pad's sensor—located on the east side—so it only runs when someone uses it.  104.7 KISS FM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Natrona County School District student musicians are showcasing their talents this summer with the Western Winds Marching Band as they rehearse and prepare for community parades under dedicated teacher guidance — the band is set to perform in upcoming local events.  K2 Radio
  • The Natrona County School District 1 board approved a $428M FY2026 budget that raises salaries with $7.3M in one-time payments while cutting 38 roles because of declining enrollment. Trustee Jenifer Hopkins raised concerns about the technology plan and out-of-state vendor selection—issues that may affect local support as the district moves ahead.  Oil City News
  • On Monday, NCSD1 announced that the Natrona County High School football team received a $100 grant from Melissa and Nathan Wilson and a science student received $100 from Roghlock. The board approved contracts for extending McDonald Landscaping’s snow removal services starting Oct. 1, awarding a $1,378,700 HVAC replacement to Sheet Metal Specialties Inc., an $110,813 artificial turf installation at Sagewood Elementary to Great Western Recreation, and a dairy products contract to Meadow Gold Dairy — actions set to fund school operations.  Oil City News
