COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Yesterday, the Casper Mountain Lions Club celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Lee McCune Braille Trail at the Casper Mountain Trails Center — the first trail designed for visually impaired hikers in Wyoming — as community members shared memories of its impact. Built in 1975, the trail spans roughly two-thirds of a mile on Casper Mountain and continues to receive updates with new bridges installed in 2024 and planned boardwalk repairs to keep it accessible.  Oil City News
  • Protesters gathered at Healing Park Saturday morning to donate sun protection items and school supplies at the Good Trouble rally organized by the Casper Unity and Solidarity Project—aiming to help local families and those experiencing homelessness. They also voiced concerns over government policies, including ICE actions and cuts to public education, while planning a back-to-school bash on Aug. 2 at Washington Park.  Oil City News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Yesterday, the Fort Caspar Museum celebrated Casper's heritage with the Heritage Festival—featuring reenactors, period talks and vendors that brought the town's frontier past to life. The museum will hold a memorial service on July 26 at 10 a.m. to honor the battles linked to Casper’s military history.  Oil City News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Advance Casper is helping bring Radiant Nuclear’s microreactor project to Natrona County by supporting plans for a new facility north of Bar Nunn and potential manufacturing jobs. Justin Farley said the project is still in planning and awaits review by the Economic Development Joint Powers Board—if approved it could offer new opportunities for local workers.  Casper Star-Tribune
