- ➤ Casper Aquatics in collaboration with the Community Recreation Foundation will host Floatopia this Saturday, July 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Paradise Valley Pool where free root beer floats will be served while supplies last; attendees should bring their own flotation devices + arrive early as entry is first-come, first-served and children 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Two Wyoming women, Mary Renee Weymouth and Cathy Kay Gordon, were caught by the FBI in Shoshoni after being intercepted returning from Las Vegas with six pounds of meth and 29 pounds of marijuana—Weymouth received a 70-month sentence and Gordon was sentenced to 10 years following guilty pleas this spring. A separate lightning storm on July 15 produced hundreds of flashes across the sky, and local photographer Kolby Fedore captured dramatic images—highlighting a striking natural display for Casper residents. - ➤ Casper College named 461 students to its President’s Honor Roll and 392 to its Dean’s Honor Roll this spring—honoring those who earned a 3.5 GPA while taking the required credit load. - ➤ Casper College announced its spring honor rolls by naming 461 students on the President’s Honor Roll and 392 on the Dean’s Honor Roll for high academic achievement. The school recognizes full-time degree-seeking students with at least 12 credits and a 3.5 GPA as well as part-time and nondegree students meeting similar standards — a nod to the hard work of local scholars from Casper and surrounding towns. 104.7 KISS FM

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Casper City Council on Tuesday approved rate hikes at Hogadon Basin Ski Area by removing season pass discounts, adding a 10% facility fee, and raising pass prices to help recover 70% of the resort's expenses. The council also reviewed a proposal for a $5.75 million pedestrian bridge and took steps to explore selling a 50 acre plot of city land near the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center — while preserving an 11 acre section for public use.
