- ➤ Andrew 'Beau' Barrett, 39, pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reason of mental illness at Natrona County District Court on Wednesday after he was charged with aggravated assault and battery for allegedly biting off Deputy Chad Beckett’s fingertip at the jail on May 13—he faces a habitual offender enhancement that could lead to a life sentence. Local residents worried the project would risk water safety and bring extra hazardous truck traffic — the plan would need a change in state law to move forward — fueling a strong debate over its future.
