  • A Casper resident, Charles Martin Jr., was charged with felony conspiracy after a June 24 traffic stop uncovered 81.2 grams of meth and phone records linked him to arranging half-pound meth purchases from Colorado—25-year-old Nicholas Fenton faces two delivery counts with high bonds while both remain presumed innocent.  Oil City News

  • Country star Neal McCoy will perform today at David Street Station as part of the final Hilltop Bank Summer Concert Series in Downtown Casper. After bowling at the White House on Tuesday, he will entertain fans with classic country hits—marking a memorable summer send-off.  K2 Radio

  • Fort Caspar Museum will host Archaeology Day on Saturday, August 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. where volunteers from the Wyoming Archaeological Society will guide hands-on dirt screening for artifacts+ attendees aged 8 and up should bring hats, sunscreen, gloves, and water+ the museum is at 4001 Fort Caspar Road in Casper.  104.7 KISS FM

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Casper city officials plan a new pedestrian bridge near downtown using a $3.5 million state grant to move foot traffic from the busy Poplar Street bridge — the design avoids drilling in contaminated soil and will reroute water and sewer lines. Construction will begin in summer 2026 and finish next spring.  Oil City News
  • City of Casper said its phone lines are down today because of technical issues affecting inbound calls to city facilities—emergency services remain available while staff work with service providers to restore service and advise residents to use online options for non-emergency matters.  Oil City News

  • A new C.H. Bixby, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton Hotel is planned for Casper’s Old Yellowstone District with construction starting in fall 2025 and an opening scheduled for early 2027 — the project is a joint venture between Brick & Bond and KAJ Hospitality and will include 120 guest rooms.  Oil City News
