  • Today from 1 to 6 p.m. the 33rd Annual Riverfest runs along the North Platte River with beer, food, music and a Duck Derby that benefits Platte River Trails — the event offers family-friendly fun for Casper residents. Tickets cost $30 for the beer portion while non-drinkers can attend for free.  Oil City News
  • Casper Recreation Division and the Casper Spuds are hosting Bases, Burgers, and Blockbusters on August 22 at Mike Lansing Field. The event will show Moneyball at 7:30 p.m. and The Sandlot at 9 p.m.—guests can enjoy games, snacks, and family fun all evening.  Jack FM

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Oil rigs in Wyoming dropped to the lowest level since 2021 in July while natural gas prices rose slightly. Mining tax collections fell for the 15th month in a row and Wyoming jobs grew by 1.6% in June — a sign of mixed energy trends.  K2 Radio
  • Casper will host the U2025 Global Uranium Symposium from August 18 to 21 as experts come together to discuss Wyoming’s rich history in uranium mining and the future of nuclear power.   • Wyoming ranchers and agricultural groups are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to hear a corner-crossing case that may change how property boundaries are viewed across the West—attorneys for Iron Bar Holdings filed a petition after hunters used a ladder-like device to cross a disputed boundary in September, and an amicus brief will be filed by Aug.18.  Cowboy State Daily
