Casper author Leslie Colburn will release her new children's book, Jilly Goat, on September 1 at a launch party at The Cottage Cafe from 4 to 7:30 p.m. The event will include snacks, prizes and a guest goat for kids to pet.

On Tuesday, Casper City Council approved a $26.5 million urban renewal project to build a 118-room Hilton Tapestry Collection hotel by KAJ Hospitality at the corner of Midwest Avenue and Ash Street, which will include a restaurant + bar; construction begins this fall and the hotel will open in 2028.
