  • A study showed Wyoming teen drivers experienced nearly 34 fatalities per 100K—a rate nearly triple the national average. The state's short learner permit period—just 10 days—may leave teens unready for unsupervised driving.  K2 Radio

  • Former Bar Nunn fire chief Robert William Hoover pleaded guilty to felony theft and official misconduct after admitting he stole about $2,660 from last September’s Fill the Boot fundraiser—he agreed to repay about $8,000 for personal purchases including Christmas decorations.  Oil City News

  • Wyoming utilities face a surge in power demand as companies plan data centers for artificial intelligence that could match the state’s entire power output. The Wyoming Energy Authority is working with stakeholders to set new rules—data center operators will cover extra costs to protect regular customers, and lawmakers will review recommendations in November.  Oil City News
  • Wyoming utilities face growing power demand as proposals for AI and data centers, including a Crusoe—Tallgrass project in Cheyenne needing 1,800 megawatts to later scale to 10,000, emerge. The Wyoming Energy Authority is leading a working group to propose regulatory changes by November that will require heavy users to cover extra costs so regular ratepayers remain protected.  Casper Star-Tribune

  • Lawmakers today advanced a bill that decriminalizes corner crossing by a 7-6 vote — stating that stepping between public lands is not criminal trespass. The measure will move to further debate and potential amendments in November — a step to ease law enforcement burdens on minor trespass claims.  Oil City News
  • Memorial Hospital of Converse County asked Natrona County commissioners to issue multimillion-dollar hospital revenue bonds to buy the Summit Medical Center building in Casper. The commissioners will review the bond request soon — a decision that could affect hospital operations.  Casper Star-Tribune
