- ➤ Casper resident Dominic Domenici, a retired federal game warden, helped break up the 1970s illegal reptile trade by using venomous Gila monsters — cooled in a wet towel to slow their action — in undercover operations at bars where one dealer was bitten and later drank tequila to ease the bite while he used thick leather gloves and careful methods to work safely. - ➤ A new study from the University of Wyoming shows that cheatgrass and other invasive grasses are pushing mule deer away from their habitats in northeast Wyoming — if unchecked, mule deer could lose over half of their high-quality living areas in the next twenty years, but targeted treatments can help restore these lands.
