- ➤ With cooler weather coming, the Wyoming Homeless Coalition expects the number of people seeking shelter to jump from about 20 a day to 60—80 in the next six weeks. The donation-funded center—known as the Comea Gap when it opens after 3 p.m. for sleep shelter services—will also host Thankful Thursday on September 25 with a 50—50 raffle to support its resources. - ➤ Dress for Success Casper will host its annual Little Black Dress fundraiser event on October 2, which will feature a plated lunch, a fashion show and inspiring stories from women who have been helped by the organization — a VIP drawing will offer two tickets, two raffle tickets, lunch for two, champagne and a swag bag while funds support local women. - ➤ Caleb Lindsay is leading The Silent Battle— a project to install a bronze sculpture in Casper that will honor veterans and support mental health by addressing invisible wounds. The project is moving forward with a fundraising campaign planned to help veterans on their path to healing. Jack FM
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Casper’s Central Wyoming Fair & Rodeo had 140,000 gate admissions and 2,840 overnight stays that helped inject $3,467,950 into the local economy during its run from July 4—12. Visit Casper promoted the event—drawing crowds from Gillette, Douglas, Riverton, Denver and Rock Springs—and boosted business in food, retail, lodging, recreation and transportation. Wyoming News Now
