COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Casper VFW Post 9439 will host a pancake breakfast this Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to support local veterans. Attendees will enjoy pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage—prepared by local veterans—while meeting with veteran organizations along Bryan Stock Trail north of Casper.  The Cowboy
  • Casper Youth Hub is launching a three-year plan to create a free third space where teens can socialize, earn money through 10 paid fellowships, and help shape programs—today the research phase is underway with a pilot summer program scheduled for next year and full implementation set for 2027. Board members, including the police chief and community leaders, and creative mentors will guide the project while teens can apply for fellowships by Oct 15.  Oil City News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Comedian Jason Mewes, known for his role as Jay in Clerks, will perform at The Rialto in Casper on October 4 with two show options—an early show with doors at 6:00 p.m. and a late show with doors at 8:45 p.m.—offering his signature humor. Tickets start at $33 and fans of Kevin Smith's films can look forward to a lively performance.  K2 Radio

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Wyoming gasoline prices increased by 1.9 cents per gallon to $3.08 today, with the lowest price at $2.59 and the highest at $3.99 from a GasBuddy survey of 494 stations. Petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan said national trends may drive prices below $3 per gallon this autumn — a change linked to seasonal shifts in demand.  K2 Radio
  • Natrona County gas prices dropped 7 cents to $2.74 per gallon as the national average rose 2.2 cents to $3.14, according to GasBuddy. Ridley’s Family Market offered the lowest fuel at $2.59—keeping the county's prices the cheapest in Wyoming.  Oil City News
  • GasBuddy's survey of 494 stations shows Wyoming gasoline prices increased by 1.9 cents per gallon in the last week to average $3.08, which is 5.4 cents above a month ago but 16.2 cents below last year+ Petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan expects the national average to drop below $3 per gallon this autumn as states switch to cheaper winter gasoline.  Jack FM

  • Firefighters have battled the Dollar Lake Fire in Bridger Wilderness and have contained 63% of nearly 20,000 acres after recent rain - crews work in steep terrain that needs ropes and climbing gear while they rely on aircraft support to manage hazards.  Jack FM

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Spence Law Firm in Casper received the Champion of Justice Award from the Wyoming State Bar for its 74 hours of pro bono guidance and over 350 volunteer hours for the Court Navigator Pilot Program — the firm also supports legal education and mentoring future lawyers.  Oil City News
  • Residents in Bar Nunn raised safety concerns during a Sept. 16 Town Council meeting over Radiant Industries’ proposal to build a 350,000-square-foot nuclear microreactor manufacturing plant. The council said a public vote was not allowed under the mayor-council system—Mayor Peter Boyer noted the company must secure a federal bond to cover decommissioning.  Oil City News
  • The Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s Sage-Grouse Implementation Team will hold its meeting at 10 a.m. Oct. 6 at the Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission Office in Casper. The public is welcome to attend in person—virtual access is not available.  Oil City News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Casper's 12-24 Club is a free space for recovery that will host a Recovery Walk on September 27 at 10 a.m. at its clubhouse on 500 S. Wolcott Street and a Recovery Rally on October 3 at the Best Western Downtown - events that will feature guest speakers, prizes, a raffle offering 10,000 dollars, and free lunch. Executive Director Jeremy Jones said the club provides a safe environment where members share their recovery journeys.  K2 Radio
