COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Casper will host the Super Flea Market on October 4th and 5th at the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds where visitors will pay $2.50 to browse vintage finds, collectibles and local treats. Hosted by the Casper Antique Collector’s Club, the market will run from 9 AM to 4 PM at the Industrial Building.  104.7 KISS FM

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Swagger Sneakers & Styles moved into Eastridge Mall on September 13—bringing arcade games and foosball along with exclusive sneaker styles for local fashion fans, and the central location helps Casper shoppers quickly access urban trends.  104.7 KISS FM

CULTURE NEWS

  • Fort Caspar Museum in Casper is hosting ghost hunting tours every Friday and Saturday in October—participants will use spirit boxes, infrared thermometers, audio recorders, and laser grids to search for soldiers' spirits on the historic grounds. The one-hour tours start at 7 p.m. and run at twenty-minute intervals until 10:40 p.m., with tickets costing $15 available in person or by phone.  104.7 KISS FM
  • Fort Caspar Museum will host ghost hunting tours every Friday and Saturday in October, starting October 1—visitors will use specialized equipment to search for paranormal evidence across the fort buildings, grounds and cemetery. Tickets cost $15, the tours last one hour and participants aged 8 and older must have an adult if under 16.  Jack FM
  • Casper College will present Elephant and Piggie’s ‘We are in a Play!’ this fall based on Mo Willems’ beloved series for young audiences. It will be performed Oct.2-4 and Oct.9-11 on the Mick and Susie McMurry Stage—tickets cost $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students aged 4 and up with evening shows at 7 p.m. and matinees at 2 p.m.  Jack FM
  • Discovery+ will premiere a two-hour episode of Ghost Adventures—produced in Casper last summer—that investigates UFO sightings and supernatural events on Casper Mountain. The episode will stream on Oct.15 and air on Discovery Channel on Oct.29.  Oil City News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On Sept 21, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department captured and relocated two grizzly bear cubs from private land after repeated hazing attempts failed to deter them from a residence. The cubs were moved to an area along the Clarks Fork River drainage about 26 miles northwest of Cody— a decision made in cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Shoshone National Forest to reduce future human–bear conflicts.  Oil City News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Starting October 1, 2025, the Wyoming Department of Family Services will begin accepting applications for the LIEAP program, which helps low-income households manage heating costs. Families—including seniors, those with young children, and people with disabilities—must reapply each season with benefits based on income and other criteria, and applications close April 30, 2026.  Wyoming News Now
  • The Casper City Council adopted new bus fares for LINK and ASSIST services that will take effect Oct. 1—fares have not been raised in over 20 years and this increase will help offset rising transit costs compared to other regional systems.  Oil City News
