  • A GoFundMe fundraiser was started for Charity—a well-known Casper cashier injured in a house fire that left her home and several cats lost while she receives treatment in Denver. The account aims to raise $4,000 and has collected about $2,800 as of Monday to help cover housing, food, and medical expenses.  Oil City News

  • Country singer Ian Munsick will perform his Eagle Flies Free Tour at the Ford Wyoming Center on February 19 with guest Tyler Nance, and tickets will go on sale on October 10 at 10:00 a.m.—the show is produced by Pepper Entertainment.  Jack FM

ECONOMY NEWS

  • The Casper/Natrona County International Airport reported 8,978 passenger enplanements in September—the highest figure since 1983—and airport director Glenn Januska said officials expect total enplanements to exceed 100,000 by year end if current trends continue.  Oil City News
  • Natrona County drivers saw their gas price drop 14 cents last week to $2.49 per gallon, making it the lowest in the area for the seventh straight week — a decline that sharply contrasts with the small drop in the national average. National prices fell only 0.3 cents with averages above $3 per gallon.  Oil City News
  • Fuel prices in Wyoming have dropped to an average of $2.99 per gallon today — some stations reported fuel as low as $2.42 per gallon. A survey of 494 stations by GasBuddy shows prices are nearly 10 cents lower than last month and 19.7 cents lower than a year ago.  K2 Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Tuesday, Aug. 5, the Natrona County Board of Commissioners met at the courthouse in Casper to review a $29.2 million bond request from Summit Medical Center to pay for its new building at 6350 E. 2nd St. They had halted the request earlier due to low support and competition with Wyoming Medical Center — meaning the hospital may have to use costlier conventional financing.  Oil City News
  • Casper/Natrona County International Airport recorded 8,978 passenger enplanements in September — the highest count since 1983 when it nearly reached 9,000.   • Week 5 of Wyoming high school football ran from Oct. 2 to Oct. 4 as six ranked games gave top teams like #1 Sheridan and Casper Christian strong wins, with most matchups in conference play continuing long winning streaks—highlighting the competitive nature of the season.  K2 Radio
  • During Week6 of the prep cross-country season, Wyoming teams ran in out-of-state races in Idaho, Colorado and South Dakota and in local meets in Cody, Rock Springs, Thermopolis and Wheatland. Races held October 2nd to 4th saw runners from Star Valley, Kelly Walsh and Wyoming Indian post notable finishes — setting the stage for the state countdown.  K2 Radio
