  • A fire on October 2nd destroyed Charity’s home and took several pet cats, leaving the Walmart cashier badly burned and now recovering in Denver—community members have raised nearly $12,500 of the $15,000 goal to help her rebuild.   • Drivers in Casper have become more dangerous over the last twenty years as red light running and tailgating have increased. A narrow intersection at 1st and Ash Streets near downtown forces larger vehicles turning right into adjacent lanes—especially in bad weather.  Jack FM

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Natrona County advisers reported strong gains in their funds during the past quarter but warned that a slowing job market and national uncertainty may affect future results—safety measures have been put in place after a past $4 million loss.  Oil City News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • At last night's meeting, lawyer John Masterson told the Casper council that the planned Seminoe Pumped Storage Project might change water quality and hurt trout and local wildlife — especially near the Miracle Mile fishery. Construction is set to begin in 2027 and could bring heavy building traffic and altered water conditions.  104.7 KISS FM

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Natrona County commissioners approved a $500,000 advance Tuesday to support operations and equipment for the Natrona County Fire Protection District—drawing $250,000 from one-cent sales tax funds and $250,000 from upcoming mineral royalty advances. The funds will pay for down payments on two new fire engines and repairs to the septic system—while officials work to improve the district’s long-term financial stability.  Oil City News
  • Natrona County commissioners approved a petition from Vista West 1 homeowners to privatize all public roads in the subdivision while reserving a permanent easement along Grass Creek Road for emergency access—residents said the change would cut public traffic and reduce maintenance costs. The board also updated heavy vehicle permit rules by setting a 90-day cap and establishing an appeal process.  Oil City News
  • Casper native Janine Jordan will begin her role as city manager later this year or early next year as she returns to lead the town where she was raised—she brings a strong background in both local government and private business.   • Paul and Kristi Hack took full ownership of the Casper Spuds after the 2025 season and are preparing for their first full season in summer 2026 with new head coach Cody McCray (Gordon State College), who brings extensive recruiting and scouting experience to the team.
