- ➤ Casper entrepreneur John Huff is fixing the 21-foot Tumble Inn Cowboy neon sign from Powder River in his shop; he faces wiring problems and a shortage of neon glass that have slowed the work. Neon artist Connie Morgan said she will resume work in a couple weeks with the sign planned to be installed by next Memorial Day—keeping a piece of local history in view. Cowboy State Daily

- ➤ Visitors reported ghostly figures and strange sounds on Casper Mountain, prompting Ghost Adventures to film a two-hour episode that debuted on Discovery+ October 15th and will air on Discovery Channel October 29th—capturing the mountain's haunted lore. K2 Radio
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Natrona County High School Theatre performed the historical drama Antigone in Munich on Oct. 16 and has a free show today at 7 p.m. with a matinée scheduled for Oct. 18—both at the John F. Welsh Auditorium. The play is based on the true story of Sophie Scholl and the White Rose resistance during Nazi Germany—using flashbacks and memories to show the conflict between personal conscience and authoritarian rule. - ➤ Wyoming folklore says woolly bear caterpillars can predict winter—if most stripes are black, a cold and snowy winter is expected, while a wide brown stripe seen in Garden Creek hints at a milder winter—but scientists say the colors are more about the caterpillar’s age and past weather. K2 Radio

- ➤ State regulators have filed notice to appeal a federal judge’s ruling that sided with PacifiCorp on a rate hike in Wyoming. The Wyoming Public Service Commission + Wyoming Industrial Energy Consumers will ask the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals to review the decision, and the case is expected to continue into next year. - ➤ Prism Logistics filed a second lawsuit in Natrona County District Court against the State Board of Land Commissioners after the board voted against renewing its leases for gravel mining at the base of Casper Mountain. - ➤ Wyoming's low-income families face delays in SNAP benefits and energy assistance because the federal shutdown has paused funding. DFS serves about 28,364 individuals each month and is working with local food banks and processing renewals so aid will resume when funding returns – leaving many households uncertain. K2 Radio
