CULTURE NEWS

  • Local audio production company Harmonyx Audio will host the 'From Studio to Stage' concert at The Rialto on November 1 to feature Casper area bands. The show will have bands switching sets every 15 to 20 minutes — guests are encouraged to wear costumes — and will run from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.  Oil City News
  • Casper’s Trick or Treat Trail will return to the Ford Wyoming Center on October 26th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.—the free event offers candy, costumes and contests for all ages and includes a calmer session from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Volunteers are invited to help organize the event.  K2 Radio

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Hannah Corkery from Windy City FFA will sing with the National FFA Chorus at the convention in Indianapolis from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1 — she will join rehearsals three days before the event begins.  Oil City News
  • Students, families and educators joined the Lights On After School event hosted by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming as they watched performances, tried science activities and saw art projects that showed the value of afterschool programs. Governor Mark Gordon proclaimed the day to highlight afterschool care—an effort to keep kids safe and supported.  The Cowboy
  • Wyoming State Superintendent Megan Degenfelder launched a statewide Language and Literacy Initiative to help all students learn to read well, uniting state officials, educators—like the Department of Education and the University of Wyoming—and community advocates in structured training and better support for dyslexia. The program builds on a recent $24.4 million federal grant that will fund a competitive grant process for school districts starting in January.  Wyoming News Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Casper-Natrona County International Airport was chosen by Honeywell Aerospace to test its new Surface-Alert system that warns pilots of runway hazards using GPS and surveillance data. Airport CEO Glenn Januska said tests using two Honeywell planes are planned for the coming weeks.  Oil City News

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Casper local Chanelle Rodriguez is restoring the Old Mercer House—a 114-year-old Victorian located across from Natrona County High School—after taking over the property in July, 2024. She fixed a kitchen leak and is working to preserve original details while adding modern touches, and her restoration project remains in progress.  Jack FM
