- ➤ David Street Station in Casper is preparing for the holiday season by installing a new chiller for its ice rink and Christmas tree lighting and parade on November 29—marking a key step to keep events free through local donations. - ➤ Cheba Hut Toasted Subs is set to open in Casper on April 20th, 2026. Owner Allen Jennings will bring a full-service bar and patio to the south end of Centennial Village Shopping Center—adding about 65 new local jobs. Jack FM
- ➤ Restauranteurs Hector Ajsivinac, Angel Chuta+David Contreras opened the second Frida’s House Mexican Food location on Casper’s east side on Tuesday, Oct. 28th after a seven-month remodel of a former Village Inn. The restaurant now operates Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Oil City News

- ➤ Kelly Walsh High School students Shyann Garbutt and Chayse Schierkolk earned the American FFA Degree on November 1 in Indianapolis, which recognized their leadership and dedication to agriculture—an honor given to fewer than one percent of FFA members nationwide. K2 Radio

- ➤ Casper College will host a free event on Nov 10 at 6 p.m. in Wheeler Auditorium (Room 103 of the Wold Physical Science Center) to discuss how nuclear energy can impact Wyoming's economy. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Mark Gordon ordered the DFS to create a Hunger Relief Program to help food banks, pantries, and churches after SNAP benefits paused due to the federal shutdown. The program will use funding based on last September's SNAP benefits — it is scheduled to release emergency aid as soon as this weekend — and aims to support thousands facing food uncertainty this winter. - ➤ Poor households are still waiting for heat help because the Wyoming Low Income Energy Assistance Program stopped new approvals on Oct 15 due to the federal shutdown—local groups say urgent requests have surged with many facing utility cutoffs.
