COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Butch's Bar in Natrona County will host a two-day fundraiser this weekend to raise money for the Thanksgiving Food Drive that supports local families. The event features music from DJ Nyke plus DJ Trilly and drink specials with 100% of proceeds donated to CHA Cares.  K2 Radio
  • Casper native Amanda Montgomery received the 2025 Southwest Region Outstanding Resource Development Professional award in New Orleans at a regional leadership conference — the Boys & Girls Clubs board also earned the League of Eagles Award. Montgomery is known for building donor ties that secure long-term support for local youth programs.  K2 Radio

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Homax Oil Sales, Inc. will open its new HX Station tomorrow at 519 S. Poplar Street in Casper’s Old Yellowstone District— a modern Conoco-branded convenience store, fuel center, deli and liquor store— replacing the long-serving Stop-N-Go. The grand re-opening runs from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and will offer fuel savings of 50¢ off per gallon until November 22.  Oil City News
  • Wyoming hemp vendors face a challenging future after a new federal law limits THC in products to under 0.4 mg per container—following a recent court decision that upheld a state ban on Delta-8. Some local shops, including Casper’s first hemp dispensary, announced they may close by year’s end as their main products become unsellable.  Oil City News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Casper has received $497,695 in TAP grant funding from Wyoming DOT to support its riverfront pathway project—this project will create a 10-foot wide multi-use path along the North Platte River and a 20-foot wide pedestrian bridge managed by Reiman Corporation, with the total cost estimated at $550,000 and a required $52,305 match.  Oil City News
  • The Wyoming Department of Transportation said Wyoming airports remain stable despite a federal 6% cut in flight capacity and a recent United Airlines cancellation in Casper. WYDOT stated that most cancellations have been minimal—Casper and Jackson experienced only occasional mid-day changes while travelers can expect regular service with more than 282,000 holiday seats available.  Oil City News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Banner Wyoming Medical Center will launch its new Ion robotic bronchoscopy program later this month in Casper—trained pulmonologists Dr. Stephanie Woolley and Dr. Jeffrey Kurrus will offer a minimally invasive procedure to better detect lung nodules. The program aims to speed up lung cancer diagnosis and provide local patients with earlier treatment options during Lung Cancer Awareness Month.  104.7 KISS FM
  • Banner Wyoming Medical Center announced that its East Campus, which has been renovated, will reopen in January as a specialty hospital focusing on orthopedic care — the facility features upgraded operating rooms and advanced surgical equipment — and it will offer complete on-site services including lab work and imaging.  Oil City News

  • Casper College is hosting a watch party today for match one of the Lady T-Birds’s NJCAA Division I Volleyball Championship in Clarksville, Tennessee — the game starts at noon at the T-Bird Nest in the Union/University Building with free refreshments for all visitors cheering for the team against Weatherford College.  Oil City News
