  • Wyoming Rescue Mission delivered roughly 300 Thanksgiving meals including turkey, stuffing, yams, and pies to low-income families in parts of north Casper and Mills Thursday evening—donations from the local community fully supported the program now in its seventh year amid increased needs after a government shutdown ended SNAP benefits.  Oil City News
  • Make-A-Wish Wyoming celebrated 40 years of granting wishes at its annual Stories of Light gala, honoring over 790 children across the state—community support that has helped the nonprofit grow and plans are in place to reach even more kids in need.  Oil City News
  • Elementary students in Natrona County can name a new snowplow at Casper airport (entries accepted until December 19) and the community will vote for a winner in January, with the winning class invited to tour the airport and see the snow removal equipment in action.  The Cowboy

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Casper’s Wyoming Rib & Chop House announced that it will close permanently on December 31 after serving locals since 2019—its doors will remain open through December, including a special New Year’s Eve service, to mark a final farewell. The restaurant's closure reflects a difficult decision made by the team amid heartfelt thanks for community support.  K2 Radio
  • Casper’s Rib and Chop House in downtown Casper will close permanently at the end of 2025 because owner Chris O’Bryan did not renew the lease after a drop in customers following COVID-19. The restaurant will host a New Year’s Eve party on its final day — featuring live music, a buffet and drink options—while its other Wyoming locations remain open.  Oil City News
  • Homax Gas Station, formerly the Conoco on CY Avenue, reopened as HX Station at 519 South Poplar Street after a soft opening a few days ago. CULTURE NEWS

  • The Casper Civic Chorale will begin its 53rd season with a concert titled Journeys of the Heart and Spirit set for Sunday, November 23 at 3:30 p.m. at Wheeler Hall on Casper College campus—tickets cost $15 with a discounted $2 rate for students.  Oil City News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Today, the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds closed their horse arena, stalls, and pens because of rising health concerns linked to outbreaks in Texas. The fairgrounds will reopen on Monday, November 24 after cleaning+ sanitizing the facilities to protect horses, staff and visitors.  104.7 KISS FM
  • The Central Wyoming Fairgrounds have temporarily closed their horse arena, stalls, and livestock pens until Monday, November 24 to allow for cleaning and sanitization in response to rising equine health concerns from recent outbreaks in Texas and Oklahoma. Officials report no linked cases at the facility and urge horse owners with exposed animals to follow isolation protocols and closely monitor for symptoms—contact a veterinarian if signs appear.  K2 Radio
