  • Casper's annual Stuff the Van toy drive will run from December 15 to December 20 at Walmart East where community volunteers & local groups will collect unwrapped toys from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily to help over 1,000 local kids enjoy a joyful Christmas, with Casper Housing Authority Cares and partners like Your Local Ford Store supporting the event.  The Cowboy

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On November 30, 2024, fire crews responded swiftly to a kitchen fire on Sullivan Street in Edgerton—residents evacuated safely and no one was hurt, though working smoke alarms were missing and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.  K2 Radio

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Wyoming Whiskey launched its National Parks No. 5 Straight Bourbon Whiskey: A Tribute to the Tetons, a five-year-old bourbon made locally that supports Grand Teton National Park conservation with a $5 donation per bottle, totaling $50,000. The whiskey is bottled at 96 proof and offers flavors of baked honey, almond and cherry liqueur—underscoring Wyoming's commitment to preserving its national parks.  K2 Radio

CULTURE NEWS

  • A report by BetUS finds Wyoming residents led the nation in tattoo regrets, with 635 monthly searches for removal and 550 for cover-ups per 100,000 people. BetUS is accepting stories for a chance to win free removal—applications remain open through December 31 and one winner will be notified by January 16.  The Cowboy

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Wyoming fell by almost 5 cents last week to an average of $2.71 per gallon, and some stations are selling gas for under $2 per gallon—prices may drop more as the holiday season goes on. The decrease follows refinery work and softer travel demand.  K2 Radio
  • Gas prices at Wyoming stations dropped 4.7 cents over the past week and now average $2.71 per gallon (GasBuddy data shows wide price variation). A few stations now charge under $2 per gallon (this trend is expected to continue into the holiday season as more travelers look for savings).  The Cowboy
  • Last week, the national price for regular gasoline dropped 8.5 cents to $2.95 and Natrona County’s price fell 8 cents to $2.33—keeping it the cheapest in the state for the 15th straight week. AAA reported that Wyoming’s state average declined 7 cents to $2.76.  Oil City News
