COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The Cowboy State Expo (Christmas Mall Expo) is at Eastridge Mall today through Dec. 7 with over 200 vendors and family-friendly activities including food, local shopping, and special events in the old Macy’s. Jack FM
- ➤ Kiwanis Club, in partnership with Food For Thought and Natrona County High School Key Club, will provide meals for more than 800 food-insecure students and families over the winter break. The program (started in 2020) supplies extra nourishment when school meals are not offered. Oil City News
- ➤ Food Bank of Wyoming announced it received a $125,000 matching donation from the John P. Ellbogen Foundation (every dollar donated through Dec. 31 is matched) to boost its holiday food drive. A benefit concert scheduled for Dec. 20 at Oil City Beer Company (Headbangers Against Hunger) offers locals a chance to support the effort. Oil City News

- ➤ Generation Warrior is a new documentary following eight Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone youth as they face early adulthood on the Wind River Reservation and will air Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. on Wyoming PBS (filmed over four years to capture their stories). The Cowboy

- ➤ Judy Catchpole, Wyoming’s former state superintendent of public instruction, died on Dec. 4 as Gov. Mark Gordon’s office announced her passing. A longtime Casper resident (she led education reform from 1995 to 2003), she remained active on local education boards. Oil City News

- ➤ Wyoming Senator John Barrasso and Senator Michael Bennet introduced the bipartisan Retirement Rollover Flexibility Act Tuesday to let workers transfer their Roth IRAs into employer plans and lower fees. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Banner Health announced seasonal visitor restrictions to help keep patients, visitors and staff safe during respiratory illness season. The guidelines, effective immediately, state that no visitors under age 13 are allowed without supervision and people with symptoms must delay their visit. Wyoming News Now
